Color, real or surreal

Some people who saw my recent posts of street photos said my post processing was a bit over the top. Guilty as charged. I normally do not do so much “color adjustment”, not even like to convert color pictures into black and white ones. I prefer photos in natural, or real, color.

Those photos I posted were taken in my recent trip to Europe, my first time. In five weeks, I stopped over at 24 different cities and towns, 48 hours the longest, 2 hours the shortest. I just had a fleeting impression of each place I stayed. The whole experience now lingers on in my mind with a surreal feel. It seems to me the color adjustments I made to those photos express that feel quite well. Maybe I’m wrong.

Some photos I took have a “color content” in themselves and adjustment of their colors would damage such content. They need to be in real color.
